JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a full-time Clinical Chaplain for Hartford HealthCare’s East Region at Backus Hospital (Norwich) and Windham Hospital (Willimantic). Our Chaplains are responsible for providing spiritual care, guidance and comfort to patients, families and staff regarding problems of personal adjustments or religious and spiritual matters in accordance with Hartford Health Care’s mission, vision, and values. Chaplains provide effective spiritual care that respects diversity and differences and promote the integration of spiritual care into the life and service of our institution and the communities we serve. We are operational 24x7 and flexibility and commitment to improving quality through best practice standards is a must. • Master of Divinity or a graduate-level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or equivalent. • One year experience as a chaplain in a recognized setting. A minimum of three years of pastoral care experience as a Chaplain is preferred, of which two years should be in a hospital setting. • Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required. • Ordained or commissioned for ministry by a recognized faith group or denomination On call coverage rotations for holidays and nights may be required. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: • Excellent communication skills • Competency in electronic medical record documentation with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office • Interpersonal skills needed to work with distressed and anxious patients, families, and employees • Analytical ability to assess spiritual needs and well-being of person’s in care and identify intervention strategies to support We take great care of careers.
