Job Description Summary
Global Compliance, Investigations & Ombudsman Leader will set the strategy and lead the GE Aerospace ombuds and open reporting program and will report to the Chief Compliance Officer.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Develop vision & strategy for GE Aero ombuds & open reporting program.
Effectively manage full investigation lifecycle
Liaison to board of directors on open reporting program health and statistics
Oversee the investigations team and 2000+ cases annually, including training and mentoring of investigators, assignment and management of caseloads, review and supervision of cases and closure reports, and performance development for the investigators
Managing the investigation process, including ensuring compliance with timely days to close and other significant metrics, effective coordination with all stakeholders in the businesses, regions and corporate functions, ensuring customer satisfaction with the process
Personally conduct significant investigations
Review and analyze case data, identify trends and keep key stakeholders apprised of important developments
Develop and implement of an overall strategy and consistent, simplified process for investigations
Provide leadership, supervision, training and guidance to the COE investigators
Set strategy and vision for Ombuds/open reporting requirements and metrics
Partner with Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, Security & Crisis Management and other stakeholders to identify and understand trends
Problem solve based on such trends and, thereby, enable the organization to respond in a timely and proactive manner
Develop consistent processes across businesses and regions. Leverage FLIGHT DECK to improve process and key performance indicators
Know and understand all applicable legal and policy requirements pertaining to the conduct of investigations including in areas involving employee interviews, data privacy, labor and employment requirements, and monitor changes in such laws and policies and provide guidance with respect to such changes
Qualifications/Requirements
JD required from accredited law school
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time
At least 10 years of experience in Human Resources, Compliance, or Labor & Employment Law, including experience conducting investigations
Ability to support/lead people who sit in multiple locations and are from multiple, diverse cultures
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with ability to handle a large and varied caseload simultaneously, to multitask, to delegate, and to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to interface effectively with senior business and functional leaders throughout the organization
Prior experience preparing and presenting content to senior executive leaders. Ability to summarize messages clearly and concisely
