Farmer Brothers Supervisor, Warehouse in Northlake, Illinois

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for daily administration and operation of the warehouse. Oversees that materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures, all within a union facility. Directs and supervises warehouse staff. Reviews effectiveness of operating procedures, maintenance, space utilization, and protection of equipment. Frequently reports to a Warehouse Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, and develop co-workers and open communications.

  • Responsible for production control and maintenance of proper inventory levels to afford production continuity

  • Reports monthly, quarterly and annual inventories, including accountability for it.

  • Analyze workload and assign manpower to ensure that service levels are met.

  • Reevaluate throughout the shift work assignment and adjust workloads

  • Monitors coworker performance with regard to compliance with documented warehouse standards

  • Ensures adherence to Human Resource policies and procedures.

  • Ensures that all actions have been taken to achieve the best possible load out staging on shift prior to scheduled delivery dates.

  • Communicate effectively with all co-workers, areas and levels of the Distribution Center.

  • Provides an atmosphere and climate of positive human relations, including fair and equal treatment of individuals, listening skills, etc

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma

  • 3-5 years of related supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or service environment.

  • Forklift, pallet jack and reach truck experience.

  • Experience working within a union environment is preferred

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL SKILL SETS

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office and the Internet.

  • Good analytical, follow through and organizational skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines.

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, in order to communicate with all levels of employees and customers (internal and external).
