Honeywell Advanced Software Engineer in Northford, Connecticut

As Software test automation Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a key role in the verification and validation of our cutting-edge products and solutions. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, analyzing test results, and ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. Your expertise in testing methodologies and tools will contribute to the successful delivery of our innovative solutions to our customers. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Northford, CT location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of our products by ensuring that they meet the required quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any issues or defects, ensuring that our products are reliable, efficient, and meet customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Automation/ Simulation strategy for projects in Fire UL release train in alignment with annual plan. Provide technical direction, set priorities and provide vision for the automation team

  • Review automation requirements & align automation activities plan to project launch plan; work collaboratively with Global V&V teams to drive objectives

  • Drive as well as participate in the development of automated tests, troubleshoot issues

  • Align to Scaled Agile Framework, understand Vertical Slicing and implement Test automation Strategies for projects; ensure robust and sustainable ROI model

  • Maintain and enhance the existing Test Automation Framework. Work towards making framework scalable, modular and flexible

  • Work closely with Application developers, business team and testing team to identify automation requirements in early stageand work to design in automation

  • Influence direction and use of technologies after making necessary evaluations and feasibilities and where tools do not fully meet requirements, extend capability of available tools or even design & develop tools as needed

  • Reviews/ audit estimations, code and documents (design, release etc.) provided by the automation engineers and manage automated testing artifacts to ensure proper reuse, versioning, backups

  • Track deliverables from the team to ensure on time delivery and communicate status to key stakeholders and senior management through regular reports

  • Research and stay current on software test automation methodologies and best practices. Constantly evaluate test automation strategy and approach for Next Gen technologies like Gen AI, SaaS/Cloud, Mobile, Database/SQL, Embedded, and Virtualization

  • Mentor project team members on proper selection, design and implementation of various Test Automation Frameworks, Tools and Strategies. Help conduct Training’s for the test engineers and identify key resources in the test team to be groomed for automation

  • Promote continuous improvement culture in the team

The annual base salary range for this position is $135,000- $169,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • 3+ years of experience in automated test development, performance, stress and load testing

  • Development of test automation framework and scripts using Python

  • Hands-on experience in

  • Pytest/ Robot framework

  • Embedded system fundamentals and test automation

  • Understanding of OOPS concepts

  • OpenCV, OCR, image processing

  • DEVOPS tools like Bamboo/ Jenkins/ GitHub actions

  • Test management in JIRA or equivalent

  • I/O Control using Arduino/ Raspberry pi

WE VALUE

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience in the JAVA and C#

  • Development of SW/ HW based simulators

  • Experience Selenium/Appium

  • Automation of desktop applications- using AutoIT, TestComplete, UFT

  • Experience in Web services and API testing. Experience in automating Mobile applications & Web Applications

  • Working experience with SQL/Oracle databases & XML files operations

  • Exposure to Agile Software Development Methodologies

  • Advanced experience working with highly complex target application environments (i.e. combination of client, web, middleware, database, mainframe, third- parties etc.)
