Army National Guard Units ARMAMENT WORKER SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32) in North Riverside, Illinois

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ARMAMENT WORKER SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0724000 and is part of the IL CSMS 2, National Guard. Responsibilities As a ARMAMENT WORKER SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), WS-6601-9, you will supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedule and approve leave of subordinates. Determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for its accomplishment. Take informal corrective action on conduct or performance problems. Work to achieve the objectives of Government-wide programs and policies, e.g., equal employment opportunity and labor management relations. Plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establish deadlines and priority based on established general schedules, methods and policies. Participate in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests. Provide workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work. Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures. Instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provide assistance on difficult or new problem areas. Assure that equipment and materiel is available when needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. IAW The Fair Chance Act, Agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview. If an Optional Form (OF) 306, Declaration of Employment is submitted prior to the point of a conditional offer, questions related to background information section may not be asked. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available for this position. PCS expenses may be authorized. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. Military Grades: Enlisted/Warrant Officer - Minimum E-8 - Maximum CW4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the Journeyman Level experience which includes experience or training demonstrating a broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and major components of weapons equipment; experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in weapons systems; experience demonstrating the ability to inspect all weapons systems; experience interpreting and applying drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-9 Level MUST possess, in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
