Opportunity Overview
The Product Board Test Unit of Teradyne has a need for an Engineering Program Manager. The position is at the company’s corporate headquarters located in North Reading, MA.
We’re looking for a veteran program manager with a design engineering background that can drive a program, and its entire cross functional team, from its initial conception all the way to its production and deployment. The candidate must be able to energize, organize, and direct all team players. They must be comfortable with multitasking across different projects.
The Program Manager will be responsible for the cost, schedule, and organizing the development of major subsystems, as well as providing succinct program status to steering committee members. Additionally, the role will involve continuous contribution and development of PM processes, templates, and organization as part of ongoing growth and improvement.
Responsibilities include:
Organize and compile material for review by core teams and steering committees.
Run and organize major subsystem development activities: requirements, concept, prototype, test, production.
Coordinate cross functional engineering, marketing, sales and operation’s disciplines to align the work of employees assigned to the program and related subprojects. Including holding and running cross-functional design review meetings, core team meetings, and project meetings.
Prepare, monitor, and frequently update engineering program plans, task plans, schedules, risk tables, and action items
Monitor and control total program recurring and non-recurring costs thru complete transfer of the program to production manufacturing
Synthesize data and present program overview status, including required escalations, to stake holders
Identify critical paths and recommended mitigation paths for risks
All About You
Engineering degree in software, electrical or mechanical engineering (BSEE or BSME with MS or MBA highly desired)
Experience leading multiple engineering programs with cross functional contributors (HW, SW, Mechanical, Automation, Operations, Field Service)
Experience in highlighting program risks to senior management with mitigation plans to close risks during the project development
Experience in making product design decisions based on feedback from the project team
Experience in creating and tracking detailed project plans that comprehend the concept generation, detailed design, design verification, customer qualification, and transfer to high volume manufacturing
Experience in working with operations organizations
10+ years of industry experience in engineering product-based companies
PMP certification with preference for PMO creation and development experience desired
Limited travel will be expected
