Position : CMT Field Technician

Location : North Platte, NE

We are seeking a CMT Field Technician to join our North Platte, NE team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Supervisory Staff.

• Daily commutable travels to various construction sites primarily throughout Nebraska, with the occasional overnight and/or weekend work when required.

• Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.

• Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.

• Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.

• Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction.

• Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.

• Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and supports other departments as necessary.

• Follows Atlas’ safety policies and procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.

• Ability to follow Atlas' QC plan and SOP's.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs., stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of a workday in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.

• Motivated, career-oriented individual striving to learn and achieve within the construction industry.

• Must be willing to travel near the reporting office and surrounding areas as required by assignments.

• Works well independently.

• Experience with/within a construction related field is a plus.

• Should be safety conscious, a team player, energetic, self-motivated, eager to learn, possess good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail

Technical Requirements:

• Achieve industry required certifications. e.g., APNGA Nuclear Certification, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1, OSHA 10-hour Construction, etc.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to learn and operate specialty equipment. Ability to work toward and achieve industry required certifications. e.g., APNGA Nuclear Certification, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1, OSHA 10-hour Construction, etc.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to learn and operate specialty equipment.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

• Materials Laboratory, Geotechnical Drilling, or Soils related experience would be a plus.

• Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ICC, NICET, NETTCP, CWI, etc., but not required
