Position Specific Description
Palms Specialty Insurance Company, Inc. (Palms Specialty) is a Surplus lines insurance carrier domiciled in the State of Delaware and rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best. Palms Insurance Company, Ltd. is a Grand Cayman domiciled captive, registered as a Class B(iii) Insurer and regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and rated A (Excellent) by AM Best. Both Palms companies are wholly owned by Palms Portfolio Holdings, LLC.
As the Manager, Data and Product Services, you will be in charge of Palms’ application and database portfolio. You will lead and manage a team to support the in-house applications; and manage the external vendor provided applications. This team serves as the primary conduit for managing and maintaining the Palms Data Warehouse, Power BI Dashboard Reporting, ad-hoc data reporting. the Claims Management & Bordereaux (BDX) import systems. As Palms continues to grow, additional applications will get added to the portfolio.
Job Specific Skills:
Strong SQL skills and knowledge of transactional and columnar databases
Strong Python skills and expert knowledge of Pandas
Knowledge of data engineering and data warehousing concepts and best practices (AWS Glue and dbt experience preferred)
Experience with Power BI data model design and writing measures in DAX
Experience developing on AWS and knowledge of AWS services
Full-stack (NodeJS/Javascript, HTML, CSS) development experience (Sveltekit, Tailwinds CSS experience preferred)
Experience with Github Actions and JIRA preferred

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lead team of Product Services Engineers including managing workflow, setting goals, and assessing performance
Leverage advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to take on multiple projects that drive process improvements and customer satisfaction
Drive resolution of complex production issues, including escalation, system testing, strategy sessions, and distribution of knowledge throughout the company
Communicate customer technology goals to influence product roadmaps to meet business needs
Communicate technical issues to non-technical customers in a timely and accurate way, via phone, email, or chat
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
