Maria Montessori Academy Adolescent Math Teacher in NORTH OGDEN, Utah
A charter school in North Ogden, Utah, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori-trained Adolescent Math Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will guide students in grades 6-9 through their mathematical journey, using Montessori principles to foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning. The teacher will create a nurturing, student-centered environment that encourages academic excellence, independence, and self-motivation, while meeting the developmental needs of adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:
Mathematical Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective math lessons based on Montessori philosophy, focusing on hands-on learning, real-life application, and collaborative work. Topics will include algebra, geometry, statistics, and other secondary-level mathematics.
Montessori Methodology: Implement Montessori adolescent pedagogy in the classroom, promoting holistic education that addresses intellectual, emotional, and social development.
Classroom Environment: Establish a prepared environment where students can explore mathematical concepts independently, while also providing guidance and support as needed.
Student Support: Provide individualized attention to students, assessing their progress regularly and offering differentiated instruction to meet various learning needs.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates math with other subjects such as science, humanities, and real-world projects.
Community Building: Foster a sense of community within the classroom and the larger school, encouraging respect, empathy, and responsibility among students.
Assessment and Reporting: Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, keeping accurate records and communicating regularly with parents and staff about student growth and areas for improvement.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing Montessori training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in adolescent education.

Qualifications:
Montessori Adolescent Teaching Credential, with a specialization in Mathematics or a strong background in secondary-level math.
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Previous experience teaching math to adolescents, ideally within a Montessori environment.
Strong understanding of Montessori adolescent pedagogy and a commitment to the Montessori philosophy.
