The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge D0D and intelligence programs for over six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.
SDL is seeking a technician for an Electronics Assembly Technician. This position will include automatic pick and place operation, rework, hand soldering, visual inspection of assemblies. This may include cleanliness testing of finished assemblies and conformal coating/staking. Interfacing with engineering, stockroom, and manufacturing specialists. Occasional overtime conditions may be requested with this position.
Required Qualifications:
High School graduate, GED, or some higher education
Ability to see project though from start to finish
Self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented
Ability to learn automated machine operation
Skilled at hand soldering and rework of electronic assemblies
Ability to pass IPC and NASA training to space level quality
Proficiency in Microsoft office products (word, excel)
Comfortable with teamwork and communication within the team
Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience working with electronics assembly equipment
