Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Respiratory Therapy Lead will coordinate all of the day-to-day technical and patient care functions of the department in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for counseling and assisting in the evaluation of personnel, scheduling and staffing. Responsible for observing and maintaining all federal and state regulations and for assisting in inventory, billing and accounting for supplies.

Under general guidance and direction by the chain of command, the Respiratory Therapy Lead is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Must be credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist (certificate required) or must be a graduate of an AMA Accredited Respiratory Care Program (certificate required). (RRT/RCP)

  • Must be a high school or equivalent GED graduate (certificate required).

  • Current State of Utah Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days of hire.

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in respiratory/cardiopulmonary services.

  • STABLE Certified or obtain within 180 days

  • Competent in all the following Cardio/Pulmonary testing: ECG, and simple spirometry.

  • Must be competent or be trained within 60 days: PFT, Event/Holter

  • Bachelors Degree
