Safe Foods Mechanical Engineer in North Little Rock, Arkansas

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Mechanical Engineer will design mechanical components of food safety systems for food processing plants using SolidWorks® and providing plant engineering support for chemical manufacturing:

  • Design mechanical components of food safety systems for food processing plants using SolidWorks®.

  • Maintain and update existing SolidWorks® models.

  • Develop documentation for transfer to production (models, detail drawings, diagrams, BOM, assembly procedures, etc.).

  • Create parts books with exploded views for customer service manuals.

  • Design and document Preventive Maintenance schedules for all manufactured systems.

  • Develop the mechanical sections and system diagrams for equipment manuals.

  • Document manufactured systems installation requirements and procedures.

  • Work to simplify equipment assembly and production time by good design practices.

  • Develop clear, easy-to-use system pre-install survey questionnaires and available system options.

  • Participate in engineering design teams.

  • Perform mechanical engineering analysis.

  • Utilize extensive creativity & mechanical design ability.

  • Develop procedures and evaluation criteria for performance testing of designs.

  • On site occasionally for new machine installations.

  • Provide process & reliability improvement for chemical manufacturing facility projects.

  • Provide Root-Cause Analysis exercises at customer sites for company-wide efforts.

YOUR MUST HAVES:

  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

  • Existing approval to work in the United States.

WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE:

  • Professional Engineer License.

  • 1-3 years of SolidWorks® experience including system design, part modeling, assemblies, exploded views and drawings.

  • Experience with Pipe-Flo® software.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing plant engineering support or reliability engineering role.

OUR ENVIRONMENT:

This position consists of mainly an office environment. Some areas require frequent use of PPE when the possibility of exposure to hazards exist. Periodically exposed to such elements as noise, intermittent standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting.
