L.L. Pelling Company, Inc. Truck Driver Class B in North Liberty, Iowa
LL Pelling is looking for local Class B CDL truck drivers to haul asphalt and rock with a dump truck. This is a seasonal position that typically works from April to November each year. Drivers may work days or nights, depending on the project, and more than 50 hours each week.
Responsibilities
Drive a dump truck or flowboy into construction job sites, rock quarries, and asphalt plants.
Load and unload materials which may include asphalt, rock, and millings.
Tarp loads using a hand crank.
Scrape and clean the end of the box from asphalt after every load.
Keep truck in clean and orderly condition.
Qualifications and Skills
Class B commercial driver's license with insurable driving record
Airbrake endorsement
Current medical card
Regular, dependable attendance
Able to work in all outside weather conditions
Able to work overtime: 50+ hours per week
Able to work overnight shift and weekends as necessary
Able to frequently climb in and out of truck using 3 points of contact to tarp loads and manually clean box
Able to use hands to safely operate a dump truck, hand crank, and hand tools
Able to sit for extended periods of time
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
