Pathways Mentorship Behavior Therapist in North Las Vegas, Nevada
Job Summary Pathways Mentorship, LLC seeks a compassionate and knowledgeable Behavior Therapist/Mentor to provide therapeutic and mentorship support to clients experiencing behavioral and developmental challenges. This unique role combines evidence-based behavioral interventions with one-on-one mentorship to help clients achieve meaningful growth in life skills, emotional regulation, and social interactions. The ideal candidate is dedicated to making a positive impact on clients' lives, providing both structured treatment and empathetic guidance to foster personal development.
Key Responsibilities Assessment and Goal Setting: Conduct behavioral assessments to identify clients' needs, strengths, and areas for growth. Collaborate with clients, families, and team members to set realistic and achievable treatment and personal development goals. Therapeutic Interventions: Implement individualized, evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and positive reinforcement techniques to address maladaptives behaviors and support skill development. Mentorship and Guidance: Act as a mentor to clients, offering support, encouragement, and guidance to help them build confidence, navigate challenges, and achieve personal and behavioral goals. Progress Monitoring and Documentation: Collect data, track progress, and document client sessions, noting both behavioral improvements and areas requiring additional support. Adjust treatment and mentoring strategies as needed. Skill Development: Provide structured and supportive training in daily living, social, and communication skills to enhance independence and functionality. Crisis Intervention: Address and manage behavioral crises as needed, using de-escalation techniques and implementing crisis intervention strategies to ensure client and community safety. Client and Family Collaboration: Engage regularly with clients' families, offering guidance on behavioral techniques and providing updates on progress. Share tools and resources to support family involvement in achieving therapeutic goals. Community Engagement: Where applicable, support clients in community settings to encourage skill generalization and help them adapt to different environments.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Social Work, Education, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Experience:1-2 years of experience working with individuals facing behavioral or developmental challenges; experience in mentorship or a therapeutic setting preferred. Certifications: - Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment. - Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is a plus.
Skills: - Proficiency in behavioral assessment, intervention techniques, and mentorship. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with clients and families. - Crisis management skills and ability to de-escalate challenging situations. - Organizational and documentation skills, including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
