Linux Systems Administrator

Location: North Chicago, IL (Remote)

Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain

About the role

IntelliDyne is seeking a Linux System Administrator to provide implementation and operations support to our DOD client's applications in an AWS/hybrid cloud environment.

As the Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation and configuration of the Linux OS as well as manage and maintain Linux-based systems on the AWS platform. You will also be responsible for system maintenance and assist with configuration management and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers

  • Oversee and perform system updates, patches, and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security

  • Monitor and analyze system performance, and proactively resolve issues

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and use configuration management tools like Ansible to streamline administration tasks

  • Manage virtualization platforms and ensure efficient resource utilization.

  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and enhance continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes

  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change management logs

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems remain cutting-edge

Qualifications:

  • Twelve (12) years’ experience in networking and computer system administration

  • Two (2) years’ experience with Ansible

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain

  • Certifications: IAT Level II certification such as Security+ CE and/or CCNA

  • Ability to obtain Ansible Certification within 5 months of start date
