Job Description
Purpose:
Trains operators on production related jobs in the department. Actively provides production support operating the equipment. Oversees and maintains training programs for the department. Strong operating or setup and troubleshooting knowledge of complex equipment and manufacturing monitoring systems. Displays AbbVie behaviors.
Responsibilities:
Schedules training activities for exempt and non-exempt personnel in accordance with individual training plans.
Develops strategies to correct deficiencies in the training program.
Own development for new technologies coming on site, stay up to date on new equipment and production line changes.
Conducts all business in a professional manner. Confronts issues in a constructive manner at an appropriate organizational level and takes ownership of tasks.
Participates in the sharing of information to promote overall efficiency of production. Attends and actively participates in meetings.
Remain current and compliant on all required trainer qualifications.
Enhance own technical background through continuous learning, including understanding of all production areas or value streams.
Actively participates as direct labor when not actively training production specialists and technicians
Collaborate with training colleagues to drive on time training compliance and effective training.
Exercises job knowledge to independently perform job responsibilities and provides on the job training to production specialists and technicians.
Knowledgeable and able to perform as an production specialist or technician on all jobs in assigned area of responsibility and Good Manufacturing Practices policies. Demonstrates compliance to local and industry quality and safety standards.
Sets example and enforces all safety, quality, environmental, operational and personnel policies. Communicates all operational events and issues with appropriate individuals.
Develops, maintains, audits, verifies, and improves the Basic Operating Procedures (BOPs), Training Materials and Training Programs.
Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Continuous walking for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required
Work in noisy environment
Wear ear plugs
Work in a clean room environment
Repeated bending, stooping, squatting or kneeling is required
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, and 5 – 6 years cGMP manufacturing experience operating or setting up and troubleshooting automatic, manual, or semi-automated equipment in production processes in accordance with operating procedures is strongly preferred.
Effectively transfer knowledge through strong interpersonal and communication skills
Technical experience and troubleshooting aptitude in manufacturing and packaging
Basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs and applications required.
A demonstrated focus and understanding of the importance of maintaining the highest level of quality and ensuring compliance to site level policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate issues to appropriate operations, engineering and mechanical teams required and the capability of reading P&IDs.
Proficient understanding of HMI controls, vision inspection systems, and product serialization systems in order to troubleshoot and resolve inefficiencies in a timely manner. Evaluate data and understand trends and alarms.
Proficient with systems such as POMs, SAP, and MAXIMO
Preferred: Technical certificate or degree.
Preferred: Training experience (2-3 years).

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
