Job Description

Purpose: The Post Market Quality Data Analytics team is a team with a blend of Business, Scientific, and Machine Learning expertise that seeks to unleash the full potential of AbbVie’s complaint management by bringing technology and/or data and insights to the forefront of decision making via fit-for-purpose data analytics solutions. The Data Scientist, Post Market Quality role is a key technical leadership role to enable application of advanced analytics techniques across PMQA processes. They will drive analytics innovation and experimentation to enable data-driven insights for complex business problems across PMQA by deploying advanced analytics techniques like Machine Learning and Visual Analytics. Ensures consistency in analysis techniques and delivery against cross-functional needs. Accountable for gathering cross-functional input. Ensures data integrity and quality prior to analysis to help drive the department’s strategy.

Responsibilities:

•Operate cross-functionally in a highly collaborative manner within PMQA business unit, functionally-aligned data scientists, functional leaders and business partners.

•Consult with business users in the analysis of requirements and recommend solutions managing the compliance and analysis requirements, which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements.

•Leverages proven statistical methodologies and those methodologies established as standard by the team

•Support, develop, and implement opportunities for technology transfer of data science methods into functional areas – spearheading the use of new methods and expanding the footprint of impactful data science, Assist in the development of standards and procedures; apply and execute standard information theories, concepts and techniques.

•Enables data-driven insights to support of PMQA activities

•If assigned, participates in functional innovation and process improvement initiatives

•Ensures adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, i.e. regulatory guidelines (such as the FDA), AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and to functional quality standards. Stays abreast of new and/or evolving local regulations, guidelines and policies related to quality complaints

•Responsible for coaching and mentoring junior team members

•Identify business needs and support the creation of standard KPIs, reports, and statistical analyses

Qualifications

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of technical experience, or master’s degree with 4 years of experience in a related quantitative field with 2 years of experience in a non-academic setting. Degree preference for Data Science/Statistics/Predictive Analytics or similar. For advanced degree holders, preference is for quantitative or engineering undergraduates such as chemistry or chemical engineering, mathematics, or other industrial/engineering degrees.

•Intermediate-level proficiency in data science tools such as data visualization tools and techniques.

•Intermediate proficiency with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, or equivalent

•Experience with Machine Learning and other advanced analytics techniques preferred

•Systems Testing, IT Implementation experience

•Experience in designing and developing processes and systems to consolidate and analyze data. Considerations include variety (structured, unstructured), volume (includes big data), data quality (cleaning and validation of the data) and velocity (batch, stream).

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
