Job Description
The Business System Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical or business knowledge to Information Research (IR) projects and activities. The position has the responsibility for partnering with a business functional area, learning their processes, and finding opportunities whereby technology can help drive efficiencies. The position will work on project teams or as an individual and will be instrumental in the development, identification and implementation of system modifications that will improve productivity within the system(s) applicable for the R&D Operations and Finance business functions that he/she is supporting.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Business Needs Assessment: Consults with functional areas to develop understanding of the varied and complex business needs and provide recommendations on system evolution and process optimization based on changing business needs and industry regulations
System Inputs, Processes, and Outputs: Serve as a point of contact for users on system inputs and workflows, ensuring all processes align with validated procedures under defined guidelines
"Problem-Solving and System Improvement: Conduct research and analysis to troubleshoot system issues. Develop business user requirements, system documentation, and data models.
Lead efforts in identifying potential system improvements that increase operational efficiency in line with corporate strategy."
Change Management: Oversee change requests for system modifications, ensuring that specifications meet business and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and communicate system changes across relevant teams.
System Testing and Validation: Lead the development and execution of test plans for system modifications, ensuring thorough validation and compliance with industry-standard protocols.
Reporting and Data Management: Produce real-time data reports and analyses to support decision-making by senior management, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data across systems.
User Training and Support: Develop training programs for users across the organization on system functionalities, ensuring full understanding of compliance requirements in system use.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, procurement, and business units to manage system enhancements, ensuring alignment with business strategy and compliance objectives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 0-4 years of experience in enterprise system development, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech) or a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
