What You Will Do

The MBU Lead Technical Training will identify and monitor technical training needs in the organization, design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to ensure all employees develop their technical skills and knowledge and are able to perform their daily tasks and solve problems. Work with Teams to improve Manufacturing Operations results and eliminate all type of losses. Initiate and manage improvement projects. Promote and maintain a safe working environment.

Collaborating with other MBU Leads and Factory Management Team to drive a cultural change to maintain continuous improvement efforts beyond process & project activities and to a lean way of working.

Ensuring strategic alignment of the training department with business goals and identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders and using needs assessments.

Owning Factory Technical Skills Matrix process, evaluating individual & organizational skills expectations, performance and conducting skills gap analyses to ensure training system is meeting business needs and improving performance. Ensures accurate training records.

Developing and delivering training solutions, ensuring that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective, liaise with industry experts to maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements.

Selecting and managing resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training. Managing the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, manage, and deliver training.

Maintaining training personnel by recruiting, training, and developing all team members; communicating job expectations; approving performance reviews; participating in labor grievances; and recommending union labor contract items to be negotiated. Responsible for Technical Training MBU employee’s and participating for other technical training personnel performance evaluation, development, and succession plans.

Collaborating with stakeholders in improvement of the whole operations value stream, reviews of existing processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement to ensure the development and execution of the plant's zero loss journey focused on mitigating Factory all types of losses. Evaluating and prioritizing potential improvements based on gains and required effort. Initiate and manage improvement projects based on lean and project management principles.

Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances, controlling costs, maximizing use of assets, and initiating corrective actions.

Enforces company policies and procedures by providing staff development opportunities; maintaining safety programs; ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; analyzing production efficiency and labor utilization; and ensuring support of the terms of the master union agreement.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education - Bachelor's Degree, BS

Work Experience - 5+ years

Supervisory Experience - 3+ years

Related Work Experience - Manufacturing Experience, Technical Training Experience

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience - 7+ years

Licenses/Certifications - Certified Professional in Training Management, Lean Green Belt

Related Work Experience - Manufacturing Experience, Technical Training Management Experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves medium weight objects (10-50 lbs.).

  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.

  • Identify and distinguish color and shades of color.

  • Communicate information orally and in writing.

  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy.

  • Work with equipment or perform procedures when carelessness may result in injury.

  • Risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

  • Work a fluctuating work schedule.

  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.

  • Ability to travel domestically 1% and internationally 1%.
