Stark State College Healthcare Career Specialist, Nursing in North Canton, Ohio
This position focuses on bridging the gap in the continuum of education between the student and a career pathway in nursing. The Health Career Specialist will work with hospital employers and nursing faculty to understand industry needs, build and nurture connections, and ensure program participants are read to enter the workforce successfully. The specialist will work with a variety of health care venues to promote opportunities for students at all levels to enter or continue their nursing career pathways. Typical Responsibilities Include: Networking to develop build, and maintain strong relationships with hospital employers and industry partners.Effectively coordinating with employers for job placements and mentorship opportunities that are beneficial to both employers and students.Recruiting, advising, and directing students towards appropriate entry points into the nursing field.Identifying and addressing barriers to student's educational and career pathways.Designing programs or training sessions that address identified educational gaps.Proficiently and successfully reporting to the grant project director and team along with tracking progress and ensuring grant milestones are met.. To Be Considered You'll Need: A bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, human resources, nursing, or a directly related field;Experience in career counseling, education, human resources or the healthcare industry;Healthcare industry knowledge including familiarity with healthcare industry trends and workforce needs;Effective communication skills, both written and oral;Ability to gather and analyze statistical data to support student success; andProficiency in integrating technology into departmental and grant programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
