Stark State College Administrative Assistant I, Career Services & Workforce Development in North Canton, Ohio

Our Career Services and Workforce Development Department plays a crucial role in supporting students, alumni and community members in their career development and job search efforts, as well as in supporting employers' talent needs. The Administrative Assistant I (Career Services & Workforce Development) position is instrumental in this role by supporting the team and ensuring effective departmental operations. The individual in this position serves as the first point of contact and liaison with students and college stakeholders for the office, thus requiring outstanding customer service skills. Typical Hours of Work: Typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. As we sometimes serve students outside of these hours, the right candidate must be willing to flex hours to cover events outside of normal business hours, as needed. Typical Responsibilities Include: Serve as the first point of contact for a fast-paced office by greeting individuals, providing information, answering questions, scheduling appointments and meetings and responding to inquiries in a timely, professional and friendly manner. Provide administrative support to the Director and staff. Perform a variety of routine to moderately complex administrative office functions that require an understanding of departmental and divisional operations and policies, strong computer skills and effective communication via email, telephone, and in-person and virtual meetings. Coordinate and maintain effective office procedures and efficient workflow. Establish and maintain efficient filing systems and office organization. Maintain good working relationships with all college departments to ensure accurate reporting and coordination of activities.
