Stark State College Adjunct Instructor, Computer Science and Information Systems in North Canton, Ohio

Instruction in traditional and non-traditional modalities; preparation of instructional materials; assessment of student performance. Teach the fundamentals in cybersecurity, networking, data analysis, information technology, computer science, or related, that will prepare students for graduation. Ideal candidates should have exceptional presentation and instructional skills. The ability to work effectively with a diverse student population. Deliver student-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success. Provide students with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved, standardized syllabi Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus and as approved by the Academic Dean and Department Chair. Complete as directed all semester and end-of-term responsibilities, including submission of never attends, early alerts, midterms, and final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and all other designated materials to the Academic Office. Consult with the academic area chair or other appropriate college personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and college policies and procedures. Respond to requests (e.g., from students, academic area chairs, department heads, committee chairs, Records Office) in a timely and thorough manner. Ability to use technology that includes virtual reality experience and multimedia software programs. Ability to use/learn the college's learning management system (Blackboard) and the master courses provided by the department. Must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches to the learning environment to ensure student learning and program learning outcomes are met. Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to function effectively and productively in team-based initiatives is critical. Enthusiasm for teaching and continuous professional development. Must be able to work effectively with a diverse student and college population. Face-to-face daytime and evening availability at all Stark State campuses is required.
