ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The Training and Compliance Specialist is responsible to develop and provide training to various professionals in customer experience fields, including Customer Service, Contact Centre, On Board Services and Hospitality.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess job responsibilities and company policies and procedures to determine training requirements

  • Understand the requirements of the Canada Labour Code, Regulations, Standards,

and industry best practice as it relates to operational needs

  • Assess the training needs of employees who require additional support in building their

skill and knowledge

  • Build evaluation programs and ensure compliance protocols are in place

  • Develop and customize training standards and material to meet all training needs

  • Ensure high quality design and engaging training programs for staff, including new hire

orientation, ongoing skill development, safety protocols, and specialized equipment training

  • Ensure and guide strategic alignment to new technology and training standards

  • Collaborate with department heads to tailor training programs to meet specific 

requirements

  • Subject matter expert in development of policies and SOP’s

  • Ensure employees meet the requirements to be certified and/or qualified in their

work

  • Development of new operations training manuals, programs and qualification tests

  • Implement emergency drills as needed throughout the many facilities within the

organization

  • Coordinate procurement and scheduling of any required third party training

  • Ensure LMS system is up to date with proper content being displayed

  • Identify training needs and development including forecasting training needs in 

consideration of operational requirements and business planning

  • Assesses priorities for training / mentoring for various passenger services staffing 

groups

  • Coaching staff

  • Technology implementation (ticketing systems, Passenger Apps, software tracking, 

Passenger entertainment systems)

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments,

and performance metrics

  • Maintain detailed records of all training activities, employee progress, and certifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Health and

Safety or Communications

  • 5 year’s experience in Hospitality, Tourism, Customer Service Industries or Health and

Safety

  • Experience training, developing and delivering educational material and courses

(train the trainer, first aid, working at heights, etc.)

  • Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), or Project

Management Professional (PMP) are considered an asset

  • Knowledge of customer experience and passenger travel is an asset

  • Knowledge on industrial regulations (Food, Health and Safety) and basic health and

safety requirements

  • Must possess coordination and planning skills

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal skills with experience in public speaking

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word,

Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as knowledge in learning management systems.

  • Valid G Drivers License with ability to travel (up to 20%)

  • Commitment to health and safety
