Join the Southeast Regional Office Bureau of Waterways and Wetlands at the Department of Environmental Protection as a Senior Civil Engineer (Hydraulic). DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out advanced engineering tasks related to hydrology and hydraulics to support the implementation of statewide waterway and flood plain management programs mandated by various Acts. Duties will also involve reviewing and processing water obstruction and encroachment permit applications, conducting field investigations, determining jurisdiction under relevant Acts, and reviewing general permit registrations. Additionally, you will assess requests for permit waivers and determinations for dams, water obstructions, and encroachments to ensure compliance with regulations. Lastly you will also be responsible for the review of transportation projects in the Southeast Region and is funded by the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP21). In this role, you will perform technical permit application reviews, consultation activities, inspection, and compliance activities in relationship to the Dam Safety and Encroachment Act, Chapter 105 and Chapter 102.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $73,995 (before taxes). Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. This position requires possession of a valid driver's license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
