Description We are seeking an Insurance Claims Specialist to join our team in the higher education sector based in Norfolk, Virginia. The role involves the submission and correction of medical claims with third-party providers, ensuring the hospital's reimbursement. This role offers a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity and requires proficiency in medical billing and IDX.

Responsibilities:

• Submit medical claims accurately to third-party providers.

• Collaborate effectively with insurance providers to ensure the hospital receives proper reimbursement for claims.

• Rectify denied claims promptly and efficiently.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in IDX.

• Uphold the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency in processing customer credit applications.

• Ensure the maintenance of precise customer credit records.

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions when required. Requirements • The applicant should have at least 1-year experience in the role of an Insurance Claims Specialist or a similar role.

• The candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of medical billing procedures and processes.

• Proficiency in using IDX system is necessary for efficient performance in this role.

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required for this position.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential to liaise with insurance companies and resolve claim issues.

• The candidate should have strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims and meet deadlines effectively.

• Familiarity with insurance policies and regulations in the higher education sector is desirable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data management and analysis, is expected.

• The candidate should have strong attention to detail to review insurance claims and identify any discrepancies.

• A commitment to ongoing detail-oriented development and staying current with industry trends and regulations is expected.
