HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER

The Role

Responsible f or delivering key human resources services to the organization including talent management, employee relations, policy & procedure interpretation, performance management, onboarding, and training. Act as a partner to leadership, operations, hiring managers and team members to ensure we are managing our human resources to be as productive as possible. This role will lead with a digital mindset, organize work practices to be efficient and collaborative, drive for results and demonstrate the role as a true talent advisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle recruiting function for a specified business unit. Maintain consultative relationships with hiring managers, manage job postings, review resumes, conduct interviews, and negotiate compensation of potential employees as needed. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for recruiting and screening candidates.

  • Responsible for leading campus recruitment initiatives to attract and hire students and recent graduates through various recruitment strategies. Build relationships with universities, attend career fairs, and promote the company’s employer brand.

  • Partner with Engagement Manager to plan and execute the summer internship program, including annual budget planning, coordinating with departments to place interns, providing orientation and training, and ensuring a positive and productive experience for interns.

  • Assist with the development and successful launch of a mentor program, pairing junior level team members with more experienced leaders, coordinating mentorship activities, and tracking the program's progress and outcomes.

  • Advise managers in employee relations to include coaching, employee accountability and termination matters, while consulting with legal counsel as needed; manage and resolve complex employee relation issues.

  • Partner with functional HR partners to meet defined deliverables in the areas of performance management, talent development, and culture & engagement.

  • Drive performance management throughout the year by providing guidance to managers on appropriate goal setting, coaching, and feedback, leading to the annual & mid-year review processes.

  • Conduct investigations of employee misconduct or other violations of company policy, or which result from discrimination charges, to recommend appropriate course of action, or respond to charges.

  • Provide policy interpretation and consultation for employees and managers; ensure compliance with federal, state & local regulations.

  • Manage the interactive process within leave programs such as FMLA, STD, etc.

  • Assist with identifying gaps in organizational health by analyzing trends in attrition and turnover.

  • Conduct exit interviews; prepare and present findings; recommend solutions based on those findings.

  • Manage other special projects as they relate to the human resources function.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • BS degree, plus minimum of 5 years of experience in a HR Generalist or HRBP role; PHR/SPHR preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations.

  • Minimum one year experience working in full-cycle recruitment; 3+ years preferred

  • Experience leading talent management efforts is a plus

  • Experience in real estate investment management industry a plus.

  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships with all levels of management, in order to gain support & achieve results.

  • Able to multitask, deal with ambiguity, and work collaboratively in a team environment; excellent analytical & verbal, written & presentation skills.

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills is self-directed, and has a consultative and collaborative work style.

  • Ability to work in an office setting daily. This role resides in our corporate office.
