Actalent Building Inspector in Norfolk, Virginia

Description

Our client is a dynamic employee owned engineering and construction management firm located in Virginia Beach. They are currently hiring for a mid level project inspector/ clerk of the works to run a large scale state project in Hampton VA.

  • Experience on state/public sector projects is a plus.

  • This is a high level building inspector position that will do similar duties to that of a Project Manager.

  • Must be able to read and understand the requirements of building plans and specifications, have knowledge of construction means, methods and procedures. CPSM understanding is a valuable plus.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing or supporting the management of design and construction projects as an Owner's Representative for federal, state and municipal agencies.

  • Education requirements include trade related training and experience in a design or construction related field.

  • Ability to critically read and interpret construction Drawings and Specifications. Familiarity with CPM scheduling and industry standard scheduling software.

  • Familiarity with cost estimating practices and standard construction cost estimating software.

  • Ability to manage budgets and large teams. Familiarity with establishing and maintaining document control on a design/construction project and use of document control software.

  • Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong leadership skills. Strong writing and speaking skills.

  • Experience working on Public Sector projects is a plus

  • Experience and/or familiarity with the Commonwealth of Virginia's Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM).

  • Experience with Public Sector Projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00
