Job Description
The Department of Political Science & Geography at Old Dominion University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Asian Politics to begin in Fall 2025. This is an annual, 10-month tenure track appointment. This position carries a 2-3 teach load and includes teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in comparative politics, including Asian Politics. They will also advise and mentor graduate students within the graduate program in International Studies.

A Ph.D. in political science, international studies, or a related field is required at the time of appointment.
Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Preferred Qualifications
A strong publication record and active research agenda related to Comparative Politics and Asian Politics.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
A teaching and research profile that complements existing coverage in the department.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the department’s strong record of research excellence, promoting equity and diversity, and student mentoring.
