Waste Connections Accounts Payable Clerk in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Description

Bay Disposal is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk at our Norfolk, VA location. This position performs vital functions to the business, as well as to the customers by focusing on the PO Log and distribution of PO’s, tracking of various purchases, and processing of invoices for payment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process invoices against purchase orders, reviewing for pricing and sales tax

  • Issue purchase orders

  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors

  • Work with team to ensure all purchaser are requesting purchase orders.

  • Requesting Certificates of Insurance

  • Reconciling invoices, statements, and reports.

  • Work in conjunction with other departments

Account Payable Skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Computation skills

  • Written and oral communication skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Basic data entry skills

  • Comfortable with math and calculations

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience processing large volume Accounts Payable invoices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Strong data entry skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and outlook

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and Accounts Payable processes.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
