Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Noida, India

We are the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization. We deliver updates to every Windows-based device in the world to protect users and enable them to be productive.  While Security remains our primary focus, we also enable our commercial and enterprise customers by enabling new device support, addressing reliability and upgrade blocking issues. Our work is critical for the Windows family of devices, SurfaceHub, Azure and more.  We are an agile team and ship twice every month, impacting over a billion Windows devices in the ecosystem. You will collaborate with your teammates in IDC, and your partner teams in Ireland and Redmond, Washington, USA.      

Our Customer Focused Engineering (CFE) team is looking for highly motivated Software Engineers to help us in this mission. You will play a key role in extending and modifying Windows Operating system code for keeping our customer base secure, improving the reliability of the platform, addressing customer reported issues, building data insights, and developing features to light up new scenarios and devices in the Windows ecosystem (PCs, Phones, Servers, SurfaceHub, Azure and more). We are energetic, agile, results oriented, a very friendly and kind group of developers and project managers working on making Windows and the world secure and productive!

Responsibilities

  • Reproducing,debuggingand fixing customer-reported problems.

  • Fixing externally and internallyfound security vulnerabilities and all the potential variants.

  • Crafting high-quality, bug-freefixes with minimum application compatibility risk.

  • Adding new features in Windows.

  • Prioritizing your collection of work and delivering fixes in a timely fashionto meet deadlines.

  • Collaborating with escalation engineers and other partner teams across Microsoft to debug, develop, test and ship updates.

  • Finding ways to improve products, tools, and processes for long-term benefitfor Microsoft and customers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence.

  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • The ability to work well in a diverse, global, team-focused environment.

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience in Networks software development, especially DNS and DHCP

  • Experience with relevant programming skills in C, C++ or equivalent

  • Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.

  • Experience in working with Windows system level programming and developing device drivers.

  • Demonstrated results working with a global team

  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies

Desired Skills

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with DNS and DHCP protocols.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols and networking concepts.

  • Experience with Windows networking stack.

  • Familiarity with security best practices in network programming.

Ability to develop and optimize DNS and DHCP services for performance and reliability.
