Oracle Principal Programmer Analyst in NOIDA, India

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage Oracle Golden Gate replication solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Monitor and maintain Golden Gate replication processes to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve replication issues in a timely manner.

  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Golden Gate configurations.

  • Collaborate with database administrators, developers, and other stakeholders to develop and deploy data integration strategies.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Golden Gate configurations, processes, and procedures.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in Oracle Golden Gate and related technologies.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during non-business hours as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

8+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Golden Gate.

In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of data replication concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

Experience with multi-master and active-active replication configurations.

Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Shell scripting.

Familiarity with other database platforms such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Oracle certification in Golden Gate or database administration is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with cloud-based database services such as Oracle Cloud/OCI, AWS RDS, or Azure SQL.

Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Understanding of network protocols and security best practices in data replication.

Responsibilities

Daily responsibility:

Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Check Replication Processes: Monitor the health and performance of Golden Gate replication processes, ensuring they are running smoothly and without errors.

  • Error Resolution: Identify and resolve any errors or issues in the replication processes. This includes analyzing logs, tracing issues, and implementing fixes.

  • Performance Tuning: Continuously tune and optimize Golden Gate configurations to enhance performance and efficiency.

Data Management:

  • Data Synchronization: Ensure data consistency and integrity across various database environments. Perform regular checks and audits to verify data synchronization.

  • Backup and Recovery: Manage and implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data and replication configurations.

Development and Configuration:

  • Design Solutions: Design and implement new Golden Gate replication solutions to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

  • Script Development: Write and maintain SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripts to automate tasks and streamline replication processes.

  • Configuration Management: Configure Golden Gate parameters and settings according to best practices and business requirements.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with database administrators, developers, and other IT staff to coordinate activities and ensure seamless data integration.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and other stakeholders. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Golden Gate configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.

Project Involvement:

  • Implementation Projects: Participate in the planning and execution of new implementation projects, migrations, and upgrades involving Golden Gate.

  • Testing and Validation: Conduct testing and validation of replication processes, ensuring that they meet the required standards and perform as expected.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in Oracle Golden Gate and related technologies. Explore new features and enhancements to improve existing setups.

  • Best Practices: Develop and promote best practices for data replication and integration within the organization.

Meetings and Reporting:

  • Status Meetings: Attend and contribute to team meetings, providing updates on ongoing projects and daily operations.

  • Reporting: Generate reports on replication performance, incidents, and resolutions. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
