Imbibe Quality Manager, Turnkey in NILES, Illinois

Job Summary 

This role will manage Food Safety and Quality activities within the Turnkey / Food Service space. The primary goal is to implement and manage compliance in accordance with Imbibe specifications and needs for products manufactured at contract facilities. This includes leading root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions which result, managing communication around formula set up and change requests, and representing Imbibe on-site at the facility during audits and appropriate or necessary product support.  

Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Develops, implements, manages, and tracks the effectiveness of integrated programs. This includes systems, standards, procedures, measures, and tools to ensure food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements are met for food products and operations.  

  • Delivers effective communications to partners at all levels, providing awareness and knowledge of quality assurance standards, program updates, and process changes.  

  • Reviews the Food Safety and HACCP plans for the respective sites and represents those sites on Imbibe Food Safety meetings.  

  • Verify site enforcement of cGMP and other quality-related policies.  

  • Review and manage batch records and other manufacturing-related documents from contract facilities.  

  • Interacts regularly with product development, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service functions to establish and define quality assurance standards for products. This includes manufacturing, sanitation, and disposition of ingredients or finished products.  

  • Verify compliance with mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.  

  • Coordinate testing and communication of results for finished products, raw materials, and packaging components as necessary and appropriate.  

  • Investigate and address quality-related issues, including customer complaints, collaborating with other teams to find proactive solutions.  

  • Represents Turnkey QA/QC on cross-functional teams.  

  • Stays up-to-date and builds expertise in food safety best practices, public health regulations, and industry standards.  

  • Monitors and maintains a turnkey quality assurance and quality control program in conjunction with overarching Imbibe systems.  

  • Conducts statistical analyses of food safety and quality data to assess compliance with related programs and identify areas for improvement.  

  • Ensures uniform interpretation and application of standards and procedures which will include developing and presenting training on same.  

  • Provides on-site production support for Turnkey activities as necessary and appropriate.  

  • Travel: average 20%, potential up to 50% at times. 

Qualifications & Skills  

  • Education: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or other relevant field. 

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years experience in food or beverage with increasing responsibilities. Preferred experience in a supervisory role. 

  • Certification: 

  • Required certifications include: HACCP, PCQI. 

  • Relevant certifications include: GFSI, CQA, FSQC, and cGMP. 

  • Skills: 

  • Proven experience in Quality and Food Safety 

  • HACCP 

  • Manufacturing processes and operations 

  • Food microbiology 

  • Understanding of FDA Food Laws and Regulations 

  • Knowledge and experience in flavors and/or supplements a plus!
