Tioga Downs Casino Resort Day Care Aide in Nichols, New York

Tioga Downs has opened a Day Care for its employees. We are hiring for friendly and caring Day Care Aides who will be responsible for day-to-day care of children under the supervision of a Day Care Teacher. The Day Care Aide assists with educational programs and helps to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver a positive, fun, and educational experience to young children (6 Weeks-12 Years)
Effectively communicate with parents, teachers, and children in a professional manner
Coordinate with Day Care Teachers, Managers, and Director around daily lesson plans, assisting where needed
Offer individual support to students in small groups to promote the understanding of more challenging concepts.
Assist the Day Care Teacher with the safety of the students inside of the classroom, during field trips and on playground.
Ensure students adhere to Day Care stated rules and policies.
Help children participate in activities including crafts, games, and other educational activities.
Provide additional assistance to students with special needs.
Manage potentially challenging behavior from students and maintain a professional and patient demeanor
Support positive interactions and relationships with children and adults in a learning environment
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED
One year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age
Enjoy working with children and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Must have basic computer knowledge including Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and must infrequently lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually highly noisy.
The Day Care operates between 7AM-11PM, 7 days/week. Because we serve Casino employees, weekend availability is necessary.
