Job Title: TIG Welder (1st Shift)

Location: Niagara Falls, NY

Pay: $25-31+/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder with at least 2 years of relevant experience. In this role, you will operate manual welders to TIG weld components safely according to specifications, working with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, cast, and cupronickel. You will follow verbal instructions from manufacturing leadership, perform tack-welding functions, inspect and document quality requirements for finished workpieces, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Compliance with company policies and participation in cross-training throughout the facility are also required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual welders to TIG weld components safely, adhering to specifications (aluminum, stainless steel, cast, and cupronickel).

  • Understand and execute verbal instructions from manufacturing leadership regarding job orders and product specifications.

  • Perform tack-weld functions to join metal workpieces at specified distances.

  • Inspect and record the quality requirements of finished workpieces.

  • Use safety devices and tools to ensure safe operation of welding processes.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Participate in cross-training throughout the manufacturing facility.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • TIG welding experience on aluminum and stainless steel.

  • Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.

  • Efficient blueprint reading.

  • Ability to weld on various materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, cast, and cupronickel.

  • Previous TIG welding experience or schooling.

  • High school diploma, GED, or technical school diploma preferred.

  • 3+ years of related experience or training required.

  • Ability to pass a weld test.

  • Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail.

  • Basic mathematical skills required for setting up and operating the welding process.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read and work to set tolerances and work from blueprints.

  • Ability to set up and operate welding machines.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in an industrial workshop environment. Welders are required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding gloves, eye protection, steel-toe boots, and ear protection, especially during the weld test in the interview process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niagara Falls, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
