Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care, directing and developing staff, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Works with the Manager of Cardiac Services to oversee the performance of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Newton Medical Center.

• Oversee proficiency in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Newton Medical Center.

• Reviews daily scheduled procedures to ensure adequate staffing levels.

• Responsible for daily clinical operational flow

• Maintains scheduling for daily staffing and on-call coverage.

• Reports to the Manager any problems and potential issues that may affect department workflow, patient safety and team dynamics.

• Utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to coordinate patient care.

• Collaborates with Manager in assessing needs of the department.

• Appropriately delegates responsibilities and projects

• Co-leads Cath Lab meetings (i.e. STEMI QI, Staff Meeting)

• Participates in patient satisfaction rounds, maintaining awareness of patient conditions and needs.

• Monitor HCAHPS and Press Ganey scores for continuous process improvement.

• Initiates and maintains open line communication for patients/family concerns complaints or special needs.

• Candidate also responsible for employee management; assists/conducts yearly performance reviews.

• Accountable for meeting all regulatory guidelines.

• Works closely with Manager in all organizational Cardiovascular Service Line initiatives.

Required:

• BSN required.

• BLS and ACLS Certification.

• Minimum of 3-years of Cath Lab, Cardiology and/or Assistant Nurse Manager experience required

License/Certification:

• Valid NJ Nursing License required.

• MSN Preferred
