McLaughlin Research Corporation ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN III-GM2 in Newport, Rhode Island
McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) has an immediate opening for a full time Engineering Technician in support of NUWC Division Newport.
Candidate will be a member of a team that assembles and tests finished products using sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners; fabricates and assembles cable harnesses, wires electrical chassis and electrical boxes.
Specific duties include:
Travel required for system installation Work with installation and engineering groups on mechanical and electrical layout/design of product updates and new product releases Fabricating and designing cable harnesses and wire assemblies Wiring of electrical cables Developing installation kits for use by system installers for product installation Documenting and reporting work performed
Job Requirements:
- Education Requirement:Technical School or apprenticeship program in related field of electrical or electronic support and/or a minimum of 2 to 3 years of electronic technician work experience.
- Candidate will be required to lift, pull or carry items of approximate weight of 40 LBSin confined spaces including vertical ladders.
- This position may require travel with minimal notice.
- Candidate must possess good communication and documentation skills, be disciplined,possess a self-motivated work ethic, and have the ability to thrive within a team environment.
- Individual must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the SECRET level.

Additional considerations will be given to individuals with working knowledge of:
- Computer hardware
- Microsoft Office
- LINUX and/or Windows operating system
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Military Background
- Communications and Electronics Technician
