Rite-Solutions, Inc. Electrical Systems Engineer/Technician in Newport, Rhode Island

Rite-Solutions is seeking skilled and motivated Electrical Systems Engineer/Technician candidates to support on-site at

Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWCDIVNPT).

This position will provide direct support to the NUWC Code 34

Imaging ISEA and Submarine Imaging Systems National Maintenance Center (SIS NMC) Teams. Tasking will provide engineering and technical support for the ISEA activity, SIS NMC, and all Periscopes and Imaging types to ensure fleet readiness of Submarine Imaging Systems. Duties and tasking will include but may not be limited to those outlined below.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Integrate, test, optimize, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and radio frequency (RF) hardware and software associated with Submarine Imaging Systems.

``` - Design system modernization and capabilities expansions to meet emerging Navy needs. - Perform analysis for and development of Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).

``` - Perform acceptance testing and measurements on various electronic and RF components and assemblies to verify system compliance.

``` - Troubleshoot and repair Imaging components via remote support from NUWCDIVNPT and/or on-site platform support. - Collect and assess technical data (such as RF data). - Develop and review drawing packages.

``` - Coordinate with the engineering team to support upgrades to existing Submarine Imaging Systems to meet data requirements.

``` - Coordinate and support technical data package development and delivery. - Develop and review test plans and test procedures - Perform and/or support integration and environmental testing events. - Perform and/or support factory acceptance testing. - Develop program status reports such as technical assessments, technical recommendations, or technical information. - Assess current system capabilities against current and near-term needs and provide technical recommendations to resolve gaps by evaluating and resolving system failure reports, obsolescence and material support issues, and other inputs from the Fleet.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with electro-optical systems, i.e. cameras, lasers, and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment and systems, ideally involving antennas, amplifiers, filters, and signal distribution.
  • Familiarity in electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and/or within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills, as well as an unwavering attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position may require up to 10% travel.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline and/or Navy experience.

Four to six years' experience in Optical, Electrical, Electronics or RF systems.

Candidate must be familiar with and demonstrate knowledge of general-purpose and RF laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, Volt/Ohm meters, power supplies, and signal generators. (Experience with the Keysight FieldFox handheld microwave analyzer is a plus).

Read and interpret technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, system schematics, technical manuals.

Technical Writing skills are required.

Previous experience in operating and maintaining Imaging Systems such as ISIS, Type 8/18 Periscopes, Photonics Masts, etc. is highly desired.

Previous experience performing Submarine Imaging and EW (IandEW) System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) and/or system groom and certification procedures is a plus.
