Regional Sales Manager, Sports Medicine

At Stryker we are looking for a talented, highly motivated sales leader who will be accountable for driving the Stryker Sports Medicine portfolio through the North of England / Scotland. You will be part of a high calibre, achievement driven sales team, who share a strong belief in helping our customers to improve patient care and outcomes through the use of our products and services. You will be responsible for the management of your sales area, the leadership of your employees as well as sales/turnover and cost so that optimised customer service and acquisition of new customers is guaranteed. You must have a proven track record of delivering exceptional results over an extended period, both personally and through teams. You should have impeccable ethics and use integrity management to ensure the delivery of Stryker’s vision of being the most admired company. The Regional Sales Manager will report directly into the Business Unit Director, Endoscopy UK & Nordics

Key Responsibilities

  • Exceed & deliver against the quarterly and yearly business budget whilst managing equipment utilisation, recurring revenue pipeline development alongside accurate forecasting vs. budget.

  • Manage, lead, and motivate a high performing sales team, supporting and driving them strategically and tactically to accelerate business through the Sports Medicine portfolio.

  • Coach and develop your sales team to achieve their potential.

  • Support and collaborate with enabling function teams such as contracts & pricing, compliance, customer service and accounting, to ensure smooth order to cash process is maintained and our customers receive the highest levels of service.

  • Build local clinical champions to support driving forward both current and future technology platforms across the entire portfolio.

  • Understand / utilize market dynamics to support business acceleration.

  • Take a creative approach to new business development for both current and future technologies and platforms.

Experience/Competencies

  • Training in a medical, scientific, technical career or degree in sciences/economics in preferable

  • Verifiable successful sales and/or marketing experience

  • Experience leading and developing a high-performing sales team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.

  • Product knowledge in the general or orthopaedic surgery sector is preferable

  • Ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve challenging targets.

  • Commercial skills in leading a profit centre

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and the competitive landscape in the medical device industry.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.

  • Negotiating skills & power of persuasion

Other Information

  • The best location for the successful candidate to live would be in the North of England

  • This role will require regional travel (40%) and to stay away from home overnight on a regular basis for customer visits.

  • This person will be based from home however visits to the head office in Newbury will be expected.
