Travel Surgical Observation Med Surg RN - Nights - Newburgh, IN AUTO OFFER

$3,318 wk./48 hrs. OR $2,506 wk./36 hrs.

NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Start: 1/13 or 1/27 - Bi-weekly orientation

Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)

Primary location: Gateway

Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7

Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Campuses are 8 miles apart & potential to float to campus 11 miles away. 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.

Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)

Patient Population: Simple observation, surgical observation, hospital ambulatory surgical patients. Generalized weakess, UTI/urology, post appy, pulmonary.

Skillset: PIV insertion, fluid/antibiotic IV therapies, heparin gtts., CBI, NG tubes. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Unit Information: 13 beds. Ratio: Days 1-5-6; NOCs 1:6-7; CN always takes patient assignment. Unit may close on weekends.

Unit Strengths: Excellent teamwork, resourceful staff, helpful/experienced charge nurses.

Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates

Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs

GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed

The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and isaccountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.

• Full command of the English language, both verbal and written.

• Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation).

• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.

• One year prior professional nursing experience preferred.

• Current BLS card.
