Job Summary:

The Materials Project Parts Coordinator is responsible for part introduction, ramp-up, storage plan and obsolescence to drive change with the Newberry Materials Department. The position reports to the Materials Supervisor.

Position Responsibilities:

· Work with Engineering, PPM and Project Managers to set up new parts and the respective material planning parameters for all projects. This will include (but not limited to)

· creation of new part numbers in the MAX MRP system,

· ensuring that the proper ROP/ROQ, safety stock, and MOQ levels are setup

· accurate pricing and manufacturer lead times are entered

· Develop PFEP (Plan for every part) strategy for new parts, which includes coordination with Materials Warehouse on the development of the proper labeling of these parts, ensure that the parts have designated, and appropriately sized primary and overstock (as needed) locations assigned.

· Execute PIPO (Phase in Phase Out) and OSMI (Obsolete Slow-Moving Inventory) projects by working with cross functional teams such as planning, warehouse and engineering.

· Work with Procurement and Commodity Leaders as needed on new supplier selection and setup.

· Drive changes to supplier packaging / skid selection based on storage strategy and work with suppliers to coordinate the return of parts.

· Change management: Work with the Material Planning team to monitor and implement

· price changes in MRP to address PPV issues and confirm standard costs.

· changes in ROP/ROQ to meet current production needs.

· Responsible for ensuring availability of components to avoid material shortages and production downtime, as well as to manage inventory levels to meet our customer service and inventory targets.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree preferred; 2+ years of experience required in lieu of degree.

  • 1-2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite, Internet, and related computer skills.

  • Proficiency in MRP system. Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate in a succinct, effective manner with a focus on professionalism

  • Effective business writing and professional communication skills

  • Actively practices and promotes safety

  • Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude.
