Job Overview:

The Supervisor oversees daily operations, ensuring compliance with RWJBH policies and alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values. This role requires a deep understanding of surgical scheduling and related systems for both hospital and physician practices, ensuring staff are trained and perform to expected standards. The Supervisor is accountable for productivity, quality, and team performance, using data to monitor and enhance efficiency. They handle escalations effectively, ensuring prompt resolution and high customer satisfaction. Collaboration with other management is key to sharing best practices and upholding professional standards across teams.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a primary care or specialty setting, required

  • Knowledge and experience in patient registration, billing, management of front-end staffing settings

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency with EHR Systems and software applications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a supervisor

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts all supervisor duties and responsibilities in accordance with RWJBH policies and procedures,

  • Enforces moral and professional standards in harmony with the department and enterprise mission, vision, and values

  • Maintains and demonstrates extensive knowledge of surgical scheduling and system processes for both hospital and physician practice groups and ensures staff are trained adequately

  • Supervises and directs the day-to day activities, functions and all related processes for patient care coordinator staff ensuring the expected performance criteria is met

  • Provides coaching and counseling of staff, performance plans, and other employee disciplinary processes

  • Accountable for productivity and efficiency,

  • Monitors and analyzes team level productivity, compliance, quality and workload using all available reporting and recording resources

  • Serves as the primary resource for surgical escalations and ensures matters are resolved promptly

  • Escalates questions/ issues in a timely manner by seeking assistance from department leadership to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

  • Partners with other management to ensure cross collaboration and sharing of best practices
