Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution Design)

Job Description

This role is responsible for planning, engineering, and designing electric and gas distribution systems. The position requires determining the need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure development to balance economic, environmental, social, and regulatory constraints and reliability needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work packages for overhead and underground residential distribution and underground cable/conduit field engineering.

  • Identify project requirements and conflicting utilities.

  • Conduct engineering and design calculations.

  • Perform post-construction reviews.

  • Work independently on larger, moderately complex projects and assignments.

  • Assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.

  • Address somewhat complex technical issues using internal best practices and through collaboration with colleagues.

  • Develop solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge.

Essential Skills

  • Distribution engineering

  • Electrical engineering design

  • 2+ years of electrical engineering professional experience

  • Ability to create CD and schematics in AutoCAD

  • Ability to travel to project sites in NJ

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS degree in a related field and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience

Work Environment

  • This position involves working on moderately complex projects independently and collaborating with colleagues across various areas.

  • The work includes both field and office settings, requiring occasional travel to project sites in New Jersey.

  • The role necessitates a good understanding of technical standards and the ability to explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to others within the organization.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00
