Job Overview:
The BMET I demonstrates confidence in using electronic test equipment to diagnose and service medical equipment. He/she will ensure all medical equipment meets manufacture specifications and is safe for patient care. They can assist clinical staff in the use of medical equipment, document all work performed and participate in Biomedical Engineering emergency on-call program.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum AAS degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent work/military experience in Biomedical Engineering.
No experience to 3 years of hands on experience
Preferred:
Basic knowledge of hand tools
Basic knowledge of electricity/electronics
Knows how to use MS Office and other computer applications
Knowledge of basic electronic test equipment preferred
Medical equipment manufacture certification preferred
Eligible for AAMI/ICC certification preferred
Basic knowledge of types of medical equipment and medical terminology
Basic knowledge of electromechanical components
