ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Associate Director, Rest of the World Content, will focus on acquiring rights for distribution and/or production of premium audio content across new territories where Audible is still not available (Rest of the World). In this role you’ll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals for book-based audio content and audio originals with prospective partners, including publishers, authors, content creators, literary agents, and recognized IP brands, at terms that benefit Audible customers. You’ll have responsibility for acquired content, ensure successful post-signing go to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon, and contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audible’s overall growth and success.
As an Associate Director, ROW Content, you will...
Manage content acquisition efforts in select international territories, including partner management, deal negotiation and implementation
Research and identify potential content partners in multiple territories and languages
Develop, grow, and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential content partners, including publishers, authors, content creators, agents and IP brands
Independently manage, prioritize, and execute high volume deal flow, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals that support Audible’s content strategy and initiatives
Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation by presenting data, preparing budgets, P&Ls, and drafting proposed deal terms
Build relationships and represent the Rest of the World content team to various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative, Finance, BI, Marketing, PR, Content Services, Content Partnerships, and Content Creation teams
Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain consistency in messaging and policy
Draft well-written and data-backed concise documents

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in book publishing, content, media rights, business development, or digital media
Experience in deal-making, negotiations, and relationship management
International experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing consultants and contractors located abroad
Experience in digital and traditional media spaces
Experience working with external partners
Experience in the audio space, acquiring or selling audio rights
Passionate about storytelling, the evolution of audio, theater, music, books, and consuming audio content
Aptitude to use Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and company-wide Project Management tools
Work that demonstrates organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Proven ability with verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner across different levels of an organization
Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
Ability to work with cross functional teams under aggressive deadlines
