Sr. Accountant (Fixed Assets)

Our automotive manufacturing client, located in Southfield, MI, is looking for a Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant to join its team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate has expertise using SAP, a solid understanding of US GAAP and has dealt with a large volume of fixed asset capitalizations.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Accurately manage and process fixed asset capitalizations.

• Reconciliation of Fixed assets, Accruals and CIP accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate accumulation of costs and timely capitalization.

• Utilize SAP for accounting operations and milestone tracking.

• Maintain and update accurate accounting records based on US GAAP standards.

• Monitor project progress and handle accruals accordingly.

• Work with Coupa software for procurement and expense management.

• Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Collaborate with other team members to streamline accounting processes.

• Resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Automotive industry experience preferred or experience in the large-scale manufacturing space

• Proficiency in Fixed Asset Accounting is essential

• Demonstrable understanding and application of Capitalization required

• Must have experience working with SAP. Experience using Coupa is a significant advantage.

• Ability to manage and track Milestones effectively and proficient in managing and recording Accruals

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

• Ability to build cross functional partnerships and work in a collaborative environment
