Bureau Vertias North America Warehouse Coordinator - Buffalo, NY in New York

Position Summary

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the routine and proactive maintenance of the Warehouse as well as coordinating vendors to reflect a professional working environment.

Objective

To conduct accurate and timely acceptance of samples and company property for storage, destruction, disposal and/or final disposition as necessary.

Major Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper receipt of all incoming packages and/or property into the Sample Control Warehouse in accordance with established Sample Control and Storage procedures through the use of available inventory control software applications.

  • Ensure appropriate distribution of samples, supplies, packages and accompanying information.

  • Convey pertinent information to appropriate BV personnel.

  • Assist with the coordination of the sample storage areas for all departments, to include organization, transportation and general disposition of tested and history samples, as applicable.

  • Satisfy all internal requests for stored sample retrieval on a timely basis.

  • Facilitate the destruction and disposal of samples in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures and current retention requirements.

  • Participate in meetings and on teams, as needed.

  • Assist in the coordination of charity raffles and give-a-ways.

  • Other duties as defined by department supervisor based on departmental needs and workload.

  • Adhere to the requirements of the BV-CPS Quality System and assist with the implementation and maintenance of the department quality system.

  • Provide feedback to department supervisor regarding departmental systems, processes and recommendations for improvements.

  • Maintain the work area in accordance with applicable Safety, Security and General Housekeeping requirements.

  • Follow the guidelines set forth in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Comply with Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.

Additional Responsibilities for Coordinator II:

  • Performs necessary Warehouse related inspections

  • Ability to drive company truck for interface facility

  • Ability to operate forklift

  • Contacts approved subcontractors for quotes and to schedule approved projects

  • Ensure Warehouse regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, FDA, EPA)

  • Review work order reports with regards to down equipment. Decide if equipment can be repaired in house or needs to be outsourced.

  • Responsible for Implementation and maintenance for Warehouse 5S.

  • Timely and efficient completion and/or coordination of vendors for all repairs and maintenance required

  • Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.

  • Understands and utilizes safe lifting procedures and proper step stools.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience

  • Must possess a valid/clean NYS driver’s license.

  • Prefer Forklift Certification, or min 1 year experience with forklift operation

Coordinator II:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years’ experience

  • Must possess a valid/clean NYS driver’s license.

  • Prefer Forklift Certification, or min 2 year experience with forklift operation

Compensation Range: $19 - $21 hourly (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).
