American Express National Bank (AENB) is American Express’ U.S. banking operation serving consumer and small business customers with payments, financing, and savings products. AENB accounts for more than 60% of the overall company’s revenues and net income. AENB HQ drives the administration of programs and services provided by AENB, in partnership with the various businesses, functions and executive officers. The AENB COO Office also plays an enterprise role in driving greater consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency across the first line via its Strategic Planning, Control Management, Program Management, and Governance functions.

The Director, Enterprise and AENB Affiliate Quality Assurance (QA) will be responsible for the design and ongoing execution of American Express’s affiliate QA function. Specifically, this position will shape the validation program across the third-party lifecycle (pre- and post- contract) to assess the effectiveness and consistency of the program execution and its processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effectiveness of the affiliate management program through a centralized QA program.

  • Develop standards, procedures, and processes, as needed, to perform QA testing of the affiliate management program execution to drive consistency and improvement and ensure adherence to the Interagency Guidance on Third Party Relationships: Risk Management.

  • Define and manage scope, purpose, and timing for QA.

  • Define and manage roles and responsibilities within the execution of QA including resolution of findings.

  • Define and manage sampling methodology and create workpaper standards and guidance.

  • Define reporting on adequacy of pre- and post-contract process steps to drive consistency of affiliate management across American Express.

  • Perform objective evaluation of documentation submitted to verify satisfaction of program requirements.

  • Review effectiveness of affiliate management processes and capabilities.

  • Lead a team of QA Managers & Analysts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated individual who can combine outstanding problem-resolution and critical thinking skills with a business and risk lens.

  • Demonstrable ability to take complex technical information and translate it into clear communications (presentations/memos) for a variety of audiences.

  • Experience supervising a team including skills assessment, workload management strategies and operating with excellence.

  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to proactivity identify areas of potential risk and implement processes to control and mitigate that risk.

  • Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree in Business Administration, MIS, Finance, Accounting or related field a plus.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
