Investments Business Partner – Vice President

The Vice President, HR Business Partner for Investments will be responsible for partnering with a best-in-class investment organization to develop and drive innovative HR strategies. This HR partner will work directly with our leaders, collaborate across the platform, unlock talent, innovate within the businesses, and ensure accountability at all levels of the organization. This individual will be part of a global HR Business Partner (HRBP) team and work with the HRBP TEAM supporting BlackRock’s Investment Teams - BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), BlackRock Global Markets (BGM), and BlackRock Investments Institute (BII).

The ideal candidate for this HRBP role is a team player who collaborates very well across teams to solve complex challenges. They will work on key initiatives in areas such as organizational design, diversity / equity / inclusion, performance & reward, employee relations, and culture, engagement & leadership development. We’ll trust you to:

  • Play a key role in the design and execution of talent management plans and organizational development strategies for Investment businesses, to support of business strategy and operational objectives.

  • Work closely with Senior Business Partners and the Investments businesses to provide advice and guidance on performance management including leadership development, succession planning, coaching talent reviews, and terminations.

  • Support the business with organizational change and development as necessary, influencing leaders to address complex organizational design issues where required for business success.

  • Partner with senior leadership and recruiting to develop hiring plans that support business objectives and advance the business and functions.

  • Advance diversity and inclusion efforts for the business.

  • Partner effectively with a truly collaborative Investments HR Business Partner team based in Princeton, New York, Asia and London.

Your clients/colleagues will depend on you to:

  • Establish an effective partnership with your business leaders as a tenured business partner across key talent decisions, providing advice and expertise, tailored for their specific business needs.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the vision, purpose and strategy of the business and design and implement a relevant and commercial strategy.

  • Support informed decision making by using data to identify trends; work with business leaders to determine root cause of issues and develop organizational effective solutions.

  • Understand and take an influencing role in the application of the Firm’s Reward Philosophy through proactive consultation with the client and partnership with the compensation team to drive a meritocracy.

  • Effectively partner with the wider HR function, including other Business Partners, ER, Talent Acquisition and the Talent Team to execute business priorities and solutions.

You need to have:

  • Ideally approximately 5+ years of HR business partner, talent, employee relations, compensation or generalist experience, ideally working in a high paced environment.

  • Ability to use HR reporting & analytics in generating insights and presenting findings back to the business, as well as tracking and disseminating key HR data.

  • Demonstrated experience building strong, effective and trusted relationships and networks.

  • Ability to execute firm-wide talent initiatives with excellence in a fast paced, global corporate environment; commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple geographies and partners.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $173,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
