Duties Description Responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of Plumbing equipment. While the employee will mostly work on Plumbing equipment, they may also be required to work on mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and general building repair.
Minimum Qualifications General Public Candidates:Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.The chosen candidate must obtain a CDL permit within 90 days of appointment and CDL B license with no air brake restriction prior to completion of probation and continuously maintain license thereafter or face possible disciplinary action up to and including termination.The preferred candidates will have experience working under a journey-level Plumber or have apprenticeship training the plumbing trade. Preferred experience includes the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial plumbing systems and fixtures. The preferred candidate will also have some experience in other recognized skilled trades such as electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Additional Comments This is a Unit 1 Teamsters position.
