Citibank, N.A. seeks a Trader for its New York, New York location.

Duties: Develop and manage the risk and trading infrastructure, including portfolio risk, and ensure risks are correctly represented on behalf of the entity. Respond to client price inquiries for interest rate swaps. Manage market risk from client activity at a portfolio level. Coordinate with control functions to ensure compliance with regulations, and partner with Finance to conduct annual financial planning. Pro-actively guide the technological development of the trading desk operation. Ensure that all activity stays within the controls and other governance of the legal vehicle. Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and expense / cost of executing business discipline and ethics. Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by the role. Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses that are required for the role, within the appropriate timeframe. Understand the regulation and capital regimes that affect Interest Rate Swaps trading. Provide liquidity and facilitating trading by making bid and ask prices on US dollar medium term interest rate swaps for institution and corporate clients. Work with sales and structuring teams to price and execute trades including swap locks, swap restructurings, amortizing swaps, multi-index basis swaps, and term secured overnight financing rate swaps. Create and maintain various pricing and monitoring tools to generate trade ideas from identifying macroeconomic environments as well as systematic strategies. Hedge interest rate derivative duration, principal component, swap spread, convexity and basis risk using liquid instruments in the futures market. Access and manage the risk exposure of the trading book through monitoring market trends and implementing risk-mitigating strategies to optimize profitability. Work closely with support teams to ensure smooth trade execution, resolve trade related issues, and handle trade settlement process. Develop and maintain relationships with institutional clients, understanding their needs and providing them with customized trade solutions. Comply with Dodd-Frank regulations to ensure transactions are on swap execution facilities, follow mandatory clearing or other reporting requirements. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Mathematics or related field and 2 years of experience as a Trader, Sales & Trading Program Analyst, or related position involving USD Swaps Trading in a financial institution. Must have 2 years of experience with Calculating risk and profit of and loss of positions and trade by trade reconciliations; Managing risk in a profitable way that generates returns for shareholders; Pricing and evaluating interest rate swaps and related derivates accurately for every trade and understand the construction of swap curves; Discounting cash flows, and calculating present values, to determine the fair value of swaps; and Programming languages python, kdb, vba on a daily basis for macros usage in spreadsheets, historical data analysis and data collecting.
